about the artist

Pruch Sintunava’s work fuses Japanese Manga art with deeper layers of human emotions. He draws inspiration from the air of anxiety hanging around his society. His muted color, lonely characters, and surrounding darkness always contain a darker side of the story—a scene representing the world he sees through a few carefully placed symbols. Using expression to bridge his painting to his viewers, he paints a face both cute and sad, hinting at a counterbalance between hope and despair. Pruch’s work is a portrait of modern humanity, urging to reveal the truth, both ugly and beautiful. It is a tale told through kids who struggle to stay alive as human beings, looking for long-lost happiness. He is currently working and living in Bangkok, Thailand.
