FROM WEDDING RING TO EPITAPH
|
harry fubash
picture us in lawnchairs
having quaint conversations
like in early, colorless films
where there are no worries
and the shoelace knot plots
will all resolve
in two painless hours
picture us burnt out and baking
under west texas sunshine
hearkening to the past
as some novel
penned by a famous name
and remember our favorite chapter
where the page corner was bent back always?
picture us side by side
lying in some lonesome cemetery
forever lost but never forgotten
in charming ivory epitaphs
like bedposts for our old bones
which lost their lustor long ago,
but are now babied in the grass

about the author
Harry Fubash currently lives in San Antonio, right in the middle of upper-middle class suburbia. He goes to college there in town, and is majoring in English (he personally emphasizes the literature aspect). He has no major aspirations. He simply desires to enjoy life by living it to his love, Jesus.
