So when I caught the axe
in my teeth,
what was it you saw?
My flaws like the back
of a hymnal, a dirty word
on a hinge.
When the tightrope
lost my shoe,

all of the above.
Then the door brought
talk to ruckus.
The cedar swayed like
one of my apologies,
pinballs in a bucket
at your feet.
